All Niland Candle soy candles and melts are scented with only high-quality, USA-made, phthalate-free fragrance oils.

Not sure what a phthalate is? They're added to fragrances to increase their longevity and durability—sure that sounds good and all, but as it turns out they're not so great to breathe in. They are also used to soften PVC plastic, imagine breathing in something that can soften plastic? Not good at all for your lungs.
